Revolucion de Cuba is a cuban-inspired cocktail bar and restaurant right at the heart of Albert Dock. The restaurant has a large outdoor seating area so you can enjoy your tapas and cocktails with a view over the water. Inside, the bar area is decorated with rum barrels, rattan furniture and retro cuban posters. This is a great place to go for a cocktail and quesadilla fuelled night out in Liverpool.
Tapas at Revolucion de Cuba are always great value, with a three for £14 offer running every day. Diners can choose from halloumi, pulled beef or chicken tacos, octopus wrapped in chorizo and a range of vegan and meaty quesadillas and nachos. The restaurant also offers burritos - including vegan pulled jackfruit burritos - which come with tortilla chips and guacamole. Gluten free diners can enjoy the burrito bowls, as well as beef ropa vieja, the national dish of Cuba. “Ropa vieja” actually means “old clothes” in Spanish. The shreds of beef were thought to resemble rags, which is how the dish got its name. For dessert, finish your meal with a selection of churros, which come with chocolate, strawberry or rum caramel sauce.
Revolucion de Cuba also has an enormous cocktail menu, and offers cocktail masterclasses and even sells its cocktails bottled online. The cocktail masterclasses are great for parties, since there are several different options which pair lessons with tapas, a buffet or even a two course meal. For those dining in, the bar has a particularly wide selection of rums and rum cocktails on offer. In fact, Revolucion de Cuba Liverpool has over sixty different types of rum. It’s worth seeking out their selection of rum agricole, which is distilled from sugarcane rather than molasses. If you’re not a drinker, try out their mocktail menu, which includes a ‘Caleno and Tonic’, made from the non-alcoholic distilled spirit Caleno.
