Aiming to bring a touch of Portugal to the charming town of Ilkley, Quinta has been open since 2014 and serves up freshly cooked food using local ingredients. Based on Wells Road, towards the centre of the town, Quinta has a relaxed feel to it making it a great place to visit with family and friends alike.
You’d be forgiven for missing Quinta when walking past – the front of the restaurant doesn’t look like much. However, although the cosy interior is simply decorated, it is a lovely setting to sit down and enjoy the appealing menu; the large window lets in plenty of light and the pale walls ensure the space always has a light and airy feel to it.
When it comes to food, a full a la carte menu is on offer for dinner and a separate set menu is available for lunch as well as for a dinner. On the dinner menu, you will find starters such as ricotta cheese mousse served with roasted and pickled beetroot, as well as pork belly with buttered spinach, apple reduction and devil’s sauce.
Main courses vary from pumpkin tortellini served with cauliflower tempura and a sage beurré noisette, to Gressingham duck breast with plum sauce served with dauphinoise potato and pak choi. To finish, the mouth-watering dessert menu features a prune and Armagnac soufflé with a stout ice cream, as well as a blackberry parfait with honeycomb and apple sponge. There are also regularly-changing chef’s specials on offer.
Whereas, the reasonably priced set-price menu includes dishes such as duck liver parfait, fish stew, braised beef served with horseradish mashed potato, and a classic Portuguese tart which comes with a small glass of port. To accompany the food, a decent selection of drinks is available. Whether you’re feeling like a bottle of beer or a classic cocktail, Quinta have got you covered.
