We first opened our doors in London in 1946, moving to our current site in Covent Garden in 1951. We are the oldest North Indian restaurant in the UK.
Since 1951 London and Covent Garden has changed a great deal, however, the restaurant is still owned and run by the same family, now in its fourth generation.
A lot of our history can be seen on the walls of the restaurant. Framed receipts, family portraits, historic Punjabi figures and images of the diners who have tasted our distinctive food through the ages.
