For nearly three decades, The Primrose Café has remained under the same ownership, earning its status as one of Bristol's busiest and most cherished eateries. In a strong commitment to quality, the team freshly make almost everything on site and carefully source their ingredients locally, sustainably, and ethically. Situated in a perfectly-positioned suntrap, The Primrose is the perfect place to enjoy some delicious food, or even cake and drinks, whilst watching the world go by. If you want a bit more privacy, the private roof garden is a peaceful spot that is open throughout the summer.
Given that most dishes are made to order, the Primrose Cafe team will happily adapt them to accommodate specific dietary preferences – just let them know. The same goes for children, there isn’t a specific menu, but they’ll happily try to accommodate any requests in order to ensure an enjoyable dining experience for you.Breakfast time sees the options of the veggie Monty, with two poached eggs, two Portobello mushrooms, baked beans, hash brown, veggie sausage, wilted spinach, harissa tomatoes and sourdough toast, whilst sweeter brunch options include a Belgian waffle with with bananas and hot chocolate sauce, red berry compote, with yoghurt and maple syrup, or the classic bacon and maple syrup. If you like to try something with a bit of a different kick to it, go for the bagel packed with Korean style barbecued bacon, kimchi, cream cheese and melted cheddar, charred spring onion and Asian slaw.
Lunch includes the New Yorker sandwich, packed with salt beef pastrami, pickled gherkins, sauerkraut, gruyere cheese and French’s mustard on wholemeal bloomer, and the Primrose club focaccia, made with toasted rosemary and seasalt focaccia with roast chicken, mayonnaise, rocket, heritage-cured ham, cheddar, tomato and mixed leaves.
