Pizza Pilgrims is a now prolific pizza restaurant chain with spots all over the country, particularly across London, that serves up Neapolitan pizza to the masses.
In Spring 2023, the brand brought its 'Neapolitan flair' to the Midlands, opening a decorative restaurant in Nottingham. Based on Carlton Street, the eatery is in the heart of the action, just a stone's throw from the city's creative quarter and other buzzy bars and restaurants.
The decor is full of fun, and fits in well to Nottingham's scene of creative, themed hospitality spots. Think bright colours, faux flowers overhead and old Italia posters, for a hint of escapism. But, of course, it's the menu we're really here for, with 13 different pizza options. If you're looking for something classic, you can't go wrong with the Margherita Extra, which adds fresh buffalo mozzarella to the original recipe, or the 'Nduja, with spicy, meaty Calabrian sausage that melts across mozzarella cheese.
Now, you've probably heard of the Four Cheeses, but have you heard of the Eight Cheeses? This update on another classic includes ricotta, buffalo mozzarella, fior di latte mozzarella, gorgonzola, parmesan, provola, pecorino and burrata, finished with smoked chilli jam. If you're on the search for a vegan option, check out the Pizz& Love with wild broccoli, mushrooms, red onions, olives and vegan pesto.
For sides, you can get stuck into cacio e pepe balls, which bring together crispy swirls of spaghetti with pecorino cheese and black pepper, as well as artichokes fritti with crispy panko crust, and the Puglian burrata with basil pesto, and a freshly baked jumbo grissini. On the dessert menu, you've got to try the ring of pizza dough, stuffed full of Nutella and ricotta, baked, and served with vanilla ice cream and even more Nutella.
