One of the front runners in the deification of dude food, this shrine to artisan burgers has garnered legions of fans since its beginnings as a pop-up – some hard-core devotees even wear its merchandise. Patty & Bun’s bricks-and-mortar outlets are as simple as ever, but its big flavours betray a fiendish attention to detail: the signature ‘ari gold’ burger uses Aberdeen Angus beef and homemade smoky mayo, while the skin-on chips are enhanced with rosemary salt – although we reckon that the moreishly smoky, confit chicken wings in the ‘winger winger chicken dinner’ almost steal the show. It seems that hip diners just can’t get enough of these victuals, so be prepared to queue at any time of day. Inside, you can expect a laid-back vibe with neon-lit wooden booths and an eclectic soundtrack – plus some of the best patties in town.
