Patterns Brighton is one of Brighton’s best-loved event venues, offering three stories of culture, clubbing, and a sun-soaked roof terrace.
This beloved underground live music venue and cultural space has been a key part of Brighton life since 2015, hosting some world famous DJ and live music acts (Âme, Ben UFO, Goldie, Gilles Peterson and The Black Madonna, to name a few). Between the stripped-back decor and neon lighting of the ground floor, and the state-of-the-art L’Acoustics sound system in the Basement, Patterns has easily cemented its status as one of Brighton’s irreplaceable event venues.
Head up to the rooftop, though, and you’ll find Patterns also has a glorious south facing roof terrace, which turns into a palm-strewn paradise in the summer. With views of Brighton Pier and the sea, it’s no surprise that this is a popular place to unwind with a drink. The drinks list is extensive, as Patterns offers a wide range of beers on draught and in bottles, as well as a compact wine list, and a range of cocktails including classics like Negronis, Margaritas and Espresso Martinis. During the warmer months, Patterns hosts free Saturday ‘Summer Sizzler’ terrace parties, with various resident DJs spinning sunny summer tunes.
Patterns also hosts popular bottomless brunches on Saturday afternoons, offering two hours of bottomless Bloody Marys, fizz and mimosas to a soundtrack of groovy disco beats. Food comes from Patterns’ ‘Cutting Shapes’ pizza menu, which includes a choice of classic margherita, pepperoni or a herb marinara for the vegans. It’s worth booking well ahead to make sure you and your group all get a spot as spaces fill up fast.
