One of two Glasgow locations for Paesano, this Miller Street joint prides itself on bringing authentic and traditional Napoletana pizza to the Scottish city.
The expansive and buzzy dining room follows an industrial chic aesthetic, featuring exposed ceiling pipes and hanging pendant lighting, alongside bare wooden tables and school desk style chairs. Adding some theatre to proceedings is the open kitchen to the side of the dining room, where guests can watch the pizzaiolos at work, spinning and flipping the dough bases before loading them with toppings.
Dough here is proofed for 24 hours and pizzas are cooked in wood fired ovens that have been imported from Naples, at a searing 500 degree heat. The result of this traditional cooking process is a dough that is moist and soft, and lighter than some pizza bases on the market. You can choose to enjoy your pizza with classic topping combinations such as prosciutto with mushrooms, tomato and mozzarella, or fresh Tuscan fennel sausage with sugo, mozzarella and evoo. There is a veggie option too, in the shape of a grilled aubergine, tomato, garlic and fresh parmesan pizza.
If you want to pad out your meal, you can choose to add on side dishes including a rocket and parmesan salad or a ball of burrata topped with cherry tomatoes and fresh basil. After you have finished up, you can round off your meal with either Paesano’s soft ice cream flavour of the day, or the tart of the day. Drinks meanwhile see all of the usual suspects (think red and white wine, beers and Prosecco) as well as a selection of soft drinks and traditional Neapolitan blend coffee.
With all pizzas under a tenner, friendly staff and a lively atmosphere, Paesano Pizza’s Miller Street location is a great shout for a casual meal with friends.
