I had been told previously that this restaurant was expensive. When I looked at the restaurant menu I thought it looked quite reasonable, and was unsure what people were talking about. Having visited here, I know why people call it expensive, the portions are tiny!
To add insult to injury, the service was very slow. We were sat straight away, but we had to wait about an hour to place an order for our starter. It took about 3 hours for us to get our two starters and two curries with rice!
We weren't the only ones to be frustrated with the speed of the food. It seemed the whole of the upstairs in the restaurant were unhappy. Two tables walked out as they had been waiting so long. Another table, who had been there from 1930 and ordered the most expensive set menu at £40 per head, still had not received their main courses at 10pm!!
The waiting staff in there were very sweet and apologetic, apparently there was something wrong in the kitchen. The management were another matter, the main lady is extremely rude. When this table decided they could wait no longer, she made them pay for what food they'd had, no discount or apology for the fact they had been waiting for hours!
If there had been an apology or some kind of gesture given to the unhappy tables I may have forgiven the wait time and returned again if I was desperate for a over priced watery thai. But given the attitude of the management, the pure arrogance, I will never return to this restaurant.
