Nestled within the picturesque seaside community of Leigh on Sea in Essex, the team at Oaktree Vegan Restaurant proudly opened their doors in 2013, setting up shop at 75 Leigh Road, just a stone's throw from the lively main Broadway. The Oaktree has the benefit of being just a few minutes away from the bustling town of Southend on Sea, while also offering easy access to central London, which is just a 40 minute journey. The Oaktree Vegan Restaurant is owned by husband and wife team, Samantha and Jim Anderson, whilst the team is a passionate group of vegetarians and vegans.
Open six days a week, the Oaktree Vegan Restaurant serves up brunch, lunch and dinner, all 100% vegan. Even if you're not looking for a meal, you'll also find a great selection of vegan cakes and light bites. Fully licensed, you can enjoy alcoholic drinks at the Oaktree, and up to 60 customers can be served inside, with 30 in the beautiful, quaint rear garden.
Kicking off the menu is a selection of small plates. From soya based 'calamari' with a garlic dip and deep fried fresh cauliflower in batter with a sweet and sticky BBQ sauce, down to creamy mac and cheese with crispy fried onions and a chickpea and lentil dhal with paratha bread, there is something for everyone on this menu. Big plates range from a beef style quarter pounder patty, soya based 'prawn' linguine, a crunchy vegetable and tofu pad thai to 'chicken' katsu curry and a cheese and 'bacon' rigatoni. Something special on the menu at the Oaktree is 'Redefine Meat', a groundbreaking product that uses 3D printers to produce the incredible taste and texture of meat, whilst remaining 100% vegan. You can choose from a steak, surf and turf and premium burger.
