Would give zero stars if I could.
Arrived for an impromptu meet up with friends with no booking trying our luck and saw an outdoor table without a reservation card. Asked a member of staff if we were able to sit there and was told that we could as there were no reservations for it.
Settled down and ordered 2 rounds of drinks and a pizza and as soon as the pizza arrived, a different member of staff came to our table and told us we had to leave as we did not have a reservation and that the table was booked. Told her we were told table was free and that was why we sat down and ordered, which we wouldn’t have done should we have been told the table was reserved.
Woman started to demand that we leave the table as the party that booked the table has arrived. We told her we have just got served our food and as it’s not our fault that we were sat there she should instead seat the party at another table! Obviously, there are no other table available. The party that booked the table were being very understanding and said we could finish our pizza and drinks as it just arrived but they would like their table back after that. Fair. We proceed to eat our pizza and finish up our drinks.
2 mins later, along came Mr Swaggering Bouncer man that acts like he owns the bar and told us he’s been told that we would not leave and unfortunately he would have to ask us to leave. We told him that the party has agreed to let us finish our food and drinks first. He said no, you can bring them inside. And when we asked if there were tables inside, he said no. So he is actually suggesting that we bring our whole steaming pizza and our drinks into a packed bar to finish up. It’s a joke.
Went straight looking for their manager who without question refunded us the pizza (as I’ve lost my appetite by this point) and the last round of drinks after we explained the situation.
Conclusion. Shameful really. Wait staff are super nice and friendly. Can’t fault them. Reservations woman needs to be more tactful. You’re in a customer facing industry. Customer service and all that. Bouncer needs a lesson on how to deal with PAYING customers and you may not work directly for the bar, and you’re outsourced by the bar or whatever. But on that night, you represent that bar. So…respect if you want to be respected. Really rude. So yeah, they’ve lost a customer this time.
