This Darwin & Wallace bar and restaurant (with several London sisters including No 197 Chiswick Fire Station and No 11 Pimlico Road) can be summed up in three words: avocado, cheese and booze. Hidden away near the cobbles of Clapham Old Town, its primarily a hot South London cocktails and brunch spot: drown in a pitcher of Elderflower and Earl Grey Gin Fizz or sip on a Rhubarb and Ginger Cobbler, while dining on an array of avocado-themed sourdough creations. Beer-braised brisket of beef is the highlight come Sunday roast time. From morning coffees to Espresso Martinis, the roof terrace is a popular spot and boasts a late license. You can’t book the terrace which means it gets cramped on a sunny Sunday, but a bite of No.32’s truffle macaroni cheese will help you get over that.
