Underneath the railway arches of Hackney Central is the multi-hypen events space and bar, Night Tales. Somewhat of a polymath, Night Tales is all at once several bars, a night club, pizza restaurant, terrace and events space, and can be booked out for all manner of occasions.
Claiming to be east London’s biggest terrace, it spans three railway archways and between 6,000 and 10,000 square feet of space, which all sounds very impressive. The terrace and cocktail bars are open and free of charge to enter every Friday and Saturday evening from 6pm and 5pm respectively, through until 3am. However, entry to the club room (or sometimes even the main space from 10pm) is charged and ticketed, depending on the event of the night. Night Tales has a very active events programme which sees scores of DJs playing across every weekend, usually specialising in House, Disco, Techno or Trance genres. So, if you’re keen for a big night, this is the place to go.
Night Tales’ décor varies depending on the area but the club room leans towards an industrial, warehouse aesthetic with bare brick walls and exposed pipework, while the cocktail bars feature tropical plants and fairy lights which bring a novelty, holiday feel. If you like pizza, come hungry as Sons of Slice have a pop-up here and serve pizza throughout the evening to keep you dancing into the early hours. While there’s lots to see, don’t forget to get a snap in the photo booth as a momento from your night.
