Fans of Pret will now be able to purchase the popular coffee shop’s croissants in Tesco.
The high street retailer has teamed up with the supermarket giant to offer a range of ‘bake at home’ frozen croissants, marking the first time that a Pret a Manger product can be purchased in a supermarket. The range features three variations, with customers able to choose between plain butter, chocolate filled and a vegan version.
Pret first introduced its vegan croissants in January 2020 as part of ‘Veganuary’, but the plant-based option proved so popular that it is now a permanent fixture on the menu. The vegan version of the classic French snack swaps out traditional butter for shea butter, which according to Pret, gives them the “same buttery flakiness as a classic croissant”.
Pret’s range of ‘bake at home’ croissants come in packs of six, so they are perfect for a weekend brunch at home with your family or housemates. The packs can be found in the frozen aisle of more than 700 Tesco stores across the UK and are priced from £3 each.
Speaking about the launch of the range, Tesco assistant buyer Amy Merrington said: “Croissants are our best selling frozen pastry product but this range offers something unique – a taste of the much-loved Pret A Manger favourite.
“With the nation continuing to spend more time at home, we expect many have missed being able to enjoy freshly baked treats with their morning coffee, so we’re thrilled to be able to now offer our customers exactly this in comfort of their own homes.”
The Pret a Manger ‘bake at home’ frozen croissants are available now at Tesco (participating stores only).
