Nando’s is going to start serving brunch

Everyone’s favourite chicken restaurant Nando’s is bringing brunch to its new London location.

Nando’s has won plenty of fans with its winning formula of affordable piri piri chicken served alongside the likes of chips and garlic bread and bottomless soft drinks. Now, it’s decided to join the legion of restaurants serving brunch in the capital.

Until now, Nando’s only served brunch dishes at its branch in Gatwick airport and at its Cobham services location (not exactly the most popular places to head for a meal). This August though, the Portuguese restaurant group will launch a summer pop up in Shoreditch, where brunch dishes will be available for all.

Dishes to try will include Nando’s take on a full English, which features flame-grilled peri-peri chicken sausages, served with eggs, Portobello mushroom, grilled tomato, crispy corn browns and beans smothered in a fiery sauce. If you prefer to start your morning off on a sweet note, you can instead opt for a stack of the spiced maple pancakes.

Nando’s has also roped in some famous faces to help launch a series of dishes exclusive to the pop up. That means you can expect to see the likes of a lunchtime wrap designed by UK rapper Stefflon Don. The artist, best known for her song ‘Hurtin’ Me’, has created a beanie wrap on a bed of green spinach, topped with chargrilled peppers and a grilled pineapple slice, covered in pineapple and coconut chutney, and drizzled with Nandos’ new Mango & Lime Peri-naise on top.

As well as serving up tempting dishes, the pop up will also host a packed schedule of events, including a 'how to make your own peri-peri sauce' workshop with west London grime MC Big Zuu, as well as photography showcases and tutorials on how to perfect your DJ’ing skills. There will also be a few more mindful activities in the form of meditation and breathing workshops, so you can contemplate life’s more important questions, like ‘just how cheeky is a Nando’s?’.

The Nando's summer pop up runs from 1-18 August and can be found in Shoreditch at The Yard, 891 Worship Street, EC2A 2BF. Tickets for the pop up go on sale on Nando’s website from 15 July.
