TV chef and author Monica Galetti has announced that she’ll be returning to our screens in 2023, retaking her place as a judge on MasterChef: The Professionals.
In a post on her Instagram, Galetti revealed that she’ll be joining co-stars Marcus Wareing and Gregg Wallace once again on the show, uniting the popular trio for the next season of the show.
‘A year ago I made the tough call to take a break from Masterchef The Professionals,’ she said via Instagram. ‘I’m so grateful for everyone’s support that allowed me time out to get back on top of managing business and family commitments.
‘I'm delighted to say that I am able to come back to MasterChef: The Professionals this year and I'm super thrilled to see what new talent is out there & to be back with my buddies @greggawallace and @marcuswareing.’
Galetti had been a stalwart of the show for many years, but she made the decision to step down from her judging role in 2022, explaining that she needed to focus on her family and her restaurant, Mere.
She was replaced on the show by Myrtle chef Anna Haugh, who also commented, saying, 'chef great to see you back in the driving seat.'
Series 16 of MasterChef: The Professionals is due to air in November 2023 for a grand total of six weeks leading up to Christmas.
The show has a history of uncovering some extremely talented chefs, including the likes of Adam Handling (Frog by Adam Handling), Steven Edwards (Etch by Steven Edwards), Steve Groves, Scott Davies (The Three Chimneys), Stu Deeley (Smoke at Hampton Manor), and Alex Webb (Alex Webb at Park Lane).
