Kitchen Table, which was once ranked as the country’s most expensive restaurant, has reduced its prices by a third in an attempt to make fine dining more accessible.
The two Michelin starred restaurant previously charged £300 per head for its tasting menu, which includes approximately 20 courses. Diners can now enjoy the same menu for a lot less, with the offering having recently been reduced to £200 per person.
For those who wish to splash out further, an optional wine pairing is available for an extra £160, while the Grower Champagne pairing will set you back another £250.
Kitchen Table opened in 2012 and gained its first Michelin star just two years later, with the second being awarded in 2018 - an accolade only 20 restaurants in the UK hold. The 2023 Michelin Awards recently saw the restaurant retain its second star for the fifth year in a row.
Chef James Knappett runs the kitchen team, who cut his teeth at a slew of renowned restaurants across the globe. These include Restaurant Gordon Ramsay at Royal Hospital Road, René Redzepi’s Noma in Copenhagen and Thomas Keller's New York restaurant Per Se.
Kitchen Table is owned by JKS, a group that is synonymous with London's restaurant scene and behind foodie hot spots such as Brigadiers, BAO, and Gymkhana.
The restaurant's decision to reduce its prices follows hot on the heels of Jason Atherton, who also slashed the price of his menus at one Michelin-starred Pollen Street Social.
With household bills rising, people are looking to eat out less and save money where they can, and restaurants are having to adjust in order to survive.
For those who want to book Kitchen Table, reservations are released for the entire month at once, three months in advance.
