The famously sweary chef apparently sets viewers’ pulses racing, seeing off competition from other TV mainstays such as Good Morning Britain’s Richard Madeley and chat show host Jonathan Ross, who find themselves in second and third place respectively.

Other big names to make the list include former daytime chat show host Paul O’Grady at position number five and shock jock Piers Morgan coming in at number seven. Rounding out the list of supposedly irresistible male presenters is The Great British Bake Off’s Paul Hollywood and Noel Fielding, and radio presenter Jeremy Vine.

The research was conducted as part of the Self-Made Celebs study, which analysed viewer’s tweets to see who had the highest influx of positive tweets that also include the word ‘sexy’ over the last year.

The Twitter analysis was conducted on Tweets mentioning any male or female TV host over the last year, and assigns a positivity and negativity score to each.

Commenting on the study, Peter Bennett (head of brand marketing at fair casino PlayOJO) said: “Although it's clear that all the stars featured in the analysis are hugely supported by fans online, it is interesting to see how online sentiment varies from person to person.

“It's also encouraging to see that the majority of interactions around the male stars on Twitter are positive and complimentary - particularly given the volatile nature of online forums.”

In other Gordon Ramsay news, he’s planning to open a new London restaurant called Bread Street Cafe.
