Din Tai Fung and Pizza Pilgrims are opening at Selfridges as part of new late-night dining space

There’s now another reason to embark on a late-night shopping trip to Oxford Street and that’s Selfridges’ brand-new dining destination, with two new restaurants set to open on the fourth floor of London’s iconic department store: Din Tai Fung and Pizza Pilgrims

The new and improved dining area will stay open until 11:30pm, for all your late-night pizza and dumpling needs, and will bring the total number of restaurants, bars and eateries at Selfridges to 24. The two openings will join existing restaurants EL&N, serving up Instagrammable food, drinks and interiors, and bubble tea bar Bubble Majik.

The first to open is Pizza Pilgrims on the 9 December 2021 which will offer 108-cover seating and a strong sustainable ethos at its heart. All upholstery will be made from vegan materials while tabletops and timber floors will be crafted from reclaimed waste. There will even be a giant mural on the wall created from 2000 glass water bottles.

Guests will have to wait a little longer for their dumpling fix with Din Tai Fung set to open on 22 January 2022. The site will be its second London restaurant, boasting 140 covers and a show kitchen for guests to watch their dinner be made in front of them. Expect plenty of Din Tai Fung classics including Xiao Long Bao (steamed pork soup dumplings) as well as exclusive dishes and cocktails only available at Selfridges.

Plant-based restaurant Adesse will also be opening this year on the second floor on the 1 December 2021.

David Legrand, Director of Food & Restaurants at Selfridges, says: “Adesse, Pizza Pilgrims and Din Tai Fung each offer a unique perspective on sustainable innovation, olfactory and sensory experimentation and the pleasure of being together. Each restaurant has been designed for play, with landmark attractions and unexpected details, underpinned by our ongoing Project Earth commitments.”
