Former GBBO stars launch 'Bake with a Legend' masterclasses

A new series of baking masterclasses has launched in London, which are led by former stars of the smash hit Channel 4 series The Great British Bake Off.

Fans of the cult television baking competition will be able to perfect their baking skills alongside former stars of the show, thanks to the new ‘Bake with a legend’ classes. The three-hour long experience will see you matched up with a former star baker, who you can chat away to with a welcome glass of Prosecco in hand.

Next up, your celebrity baker will offer a demonstration, before students get stuck in and have a go at creating their own baked goods. While you sadly won’t be stepping inside the famous Bake Off tent, the classes do take place at the Meringue Girls Kitchen in Hackney's Broadway Market, which comes complete with any and every appliance you could need for the masterclass. You will even be provided with a box to take your treats home in.

If you are the competitive type, it might also excite you to know that a star baker will be chosen in each class, for an extra bit of fun. Upcoming classes include how to make macarons with series seven finalist Andrew Smyth on 21 March, while series four star Howard Middleton will be whipping up traditional scones and black forest eclairs on 11 April. Finally, GBBO obsessives can learn how to make chocolate and almond praline profiteroles and lemon meringue eclairs with series four contestant Glenn Cosby.

There are more names to be announced, with Bake with a Legend’s classes running until July. Tickets are priced at £99 per person or £190 for two, and there are only a limited number of places available for each class.

If your love of the kitchen isn’t just limited to baking, check out how you can get discounted tickets to this year’s Eat & Drink Festival.
