Ever accidentally panic-ordered a 14-piece bargain bucket at a KFC drive-thru, because you were feeling the pressure during the precious few seconds you had to choose what you want? Well, good news fans of the Colonel, your ordering woes should soon be over.
According to a report by BigHospitality this morning, KFC is planning to release some Netflix-style technology for its drive-thrus in the UK. This technology will allow customers to call prior to visiting their local branch, where they will hear a recording of the menu which will highlight key products and deals.
The ‘Call the Colonel’ project will also include recommendation features similar to Netflix, tailoring the KFC experience to the user. The plan is for the technology to be integrated with KFC’s drive-thru systems, the KFC app and Amazon’s home tech system Alexa.
Currently, the technology is set to be rolled out during the first half of 2019. If you can’t wait for this to happen and fancy something a little more up market, take a look at our list of restaurant and fast-food comparisons below.
