Serving Neapolitan pizzas with a ‘bit of Brighton flair’, this unfussy spot just off Western Road in Hove prioritises quality ingredients over everything else. The sour-dough bases, made from a starter that began life in Sardinia 150 years ago together with proper 00 flour, take three days to mature, and offers that crispy savouriness that only proper pizza has. While other essential ingredients – namely, the toppings – hail from Italy as well. San Daniele ham, bresaola and wild boar prosciutto, which are all featured on its authentic meat pizzas, are as authentic as it gets, as is the olive oil and the cheese. Elsewhere, it looks to the Sussex countryside for the rest of the meats and for many of the vegetables for the vegetarian and vegan pizzas on offer.
There menu includes a list of over 30 ‘special’ pizzas – and that’s not including the classics. Alongside your margheritas and marinaras, signature options include one topped with mozzarella, caramelized onion, goat cheese, salami and hot honey, as well as hefty offerings like mozzarella, porketta, smoked provola, chips and parmesan.

There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan pizzas to choose from, as well as the option to swap for a gluten-free base if you like.
