Exciting and unique, Metropolis street food is an assortment of culinary delights, bringing together street food from the regions of Indian Pan-Asian, West African and Italian to the streets of Vauxhall. These unique pairings are housed in a space that isn't quite a restaurant, but also isn't quite as casual as a cafe. The venue lies somewhere in between, with a modern space that features exposed brick, light up signage and plenty of metal. At Metropolis, guests are encouraged to get comfy and relax. You can spend your time here drinking and dining whilst catching up with friends, or enjoying the fun with the pool tables and photo booth. Your dogs are also welcome, which is perhaps the best bit, as well as offering a delightful al fresco spot to enjoy drinks in the summer!
There are many food vendors at Metropolis, including an Indian with The Curry Club, the Filipino Kusina, Oshpaz with Asian and Uzbek influences, the Metropolis Cafe and Bar for refreshments and snacks, Mexican Birria Taco and Chipsy, with BBQ smokehouse flavours. Italian influences come from pasta and pizza vendor Fresco, along with the Gelato Lab. Last but not least, there's O'Gosht with American and Middle Eastern influences, and Japanese and sushi Sekushi.
Just some of the dishes you can expect to find at Metropolis include tender lamb noodles, pumpkin samsy puff pastry balls, boneless chicken bites and beef birria tacos with birria consommé. If you like saucy barbecue food, try the prime-aged Australian beef brisket seasoned with a special house rub and smoked for 10 hours. Ice Cream Union has a tremendously long list of gelato flavours for you to enjoy at the end of your meal, with Breton caramel, strawberry sorbet, honeycomb, matcha green tea, mandarin sorbet, cornflakes, lemon pie, dulce de leche chocolate chip and clotted cream.
