55 St. Peter's Street is a 16th century building with origins rooted in aiding and guiding pilgrims on their journey to Canterbury Cathedral. Evolving with time, the structure underwent a transformation in the 18th century, shaping it into the building that is home to Marlowe’s Restaurant today. The restaurant was initially called The Cherry Pie, before being rebranded to Marlowe's Restaurant in 1983, when Marlowe Theatre opened. In 2016, the restaurant changed to focus on modern British cuisine, and serve high quality dishes with seasonal and local ingredients.
