Marleys was first opened back in December of 2018, and the restaurant survived the hospitality crushing pandemic. This venue was new for 2023, and the restaurant has been incredibly popular since. Mark and Charly have been inseparable since 2011, and adore Kent, its beauty and the fresh produce that the Garden of England offers up. Near the sea, there is also a wonderful offering of fish and seafood available, and Marley’s Folkestone loves to make use of them. The team are proud to be eco-conscious with a minimal carbon footprint, and truly embrace the meaning of loving local. But above all, its quality that is of the most importance to the team, who love to create dishes using the very best ingredients.
For Sunday brunch, enjoy the full Kentish with famous homemade buttery crumpets, a butchers' sausage and smoked bacon, beans and field mushrooms, slow roasted tomatoes, crispy potato chunks and a free range fried egg. If you're dining with another, you should order the sharing board. You're in for a treat with fluffy crumpets, smashed avocado, poached eggs and a jug of hollandaise, along with pancakes, honeycomb butter and clementine compote. It’s designed to act as two courses for two people.
The main menu’s small plates include house-cured fishmonger fresh salmon fillet slices, naturally salt-cured with Kentish beetroot, and on a bed of citrus barley grains, with a fresh basil dressing and pickled local radishes to garnish. The large plates include the flame grilled lamb chop cooked to perfection, served with creamy harissa whipped butter bean and charred hispi cabbage and a drizzling of Kentish oil that is infused with basil. Another delicious sounding option is the lean and meaty monkfish that is fresh from the fishmonger, with a tarragon and cajun spiced butter, potato chunks, and mixed seashore veg, including classic salty samphire and with a zesty crumb.
