A space for ‘makers, wonderers, tinkerers, designers and creative in general’, Maker’s Café is a fuelling point, socialising hub and shrine to 3D printing: the lampshades are prime examples of the genre, a printer sits in the window churning out various objects, and there are leaflets encouraging people to brainstorm their ideas over coffee and drinks. The owners are also planning to install a DJ, with machines 3D printing the sound waves he’s creating, while talks, workshops and events will ram home the point and showcase what they call the ‘theatre of making’.
