Negi and Nori is a Japanese restaurant based in East London. Here, you'll enjoy authentic flavours that are so exquisite you'll imagine you've been transported to a small restaurant that overlooks some cherry blossoms. The chef and founder of Negi and Nori has over two decades of experience in Japanese restaurants, and has continued his commitment to excellence in this East London gem. The menu will take guests on a journey through traditional classics, along with innovative fusion dishes, sushi, ramen, poke, and street food. Better still, the menu features plenty of options for vegetarian and vegan diners, along with a halal menu, and each month, the team introduces new and exciting menu items to ensure that each time you return, there is something exciting to enjoy.
To begin, enjoy appetisers of king prawn katsu with Tonkatsu sauce or the spicy edamame beans. Next up is the uramaki, we'd choose the salmon avocado with sesame seeds and wasabi mayo, or the Philadelphia roll. Bao buns include chicken, salmon, pumpkin and duck options, whilst gyozas introduce prawn and vegetable fillings. If you like salad, try the kaiso salad which is a classic Japanese seaweed mix. The house special rolls include yuzu prawn tempura and the Tokyo roll, whilst the sashimi features a lot of tuna. Ramen dishes come with the chef's special roll, and we're especially drawn to the miso chicken options, with wavy noodles, miso tare and chicken kara-age.
There are plenty of other sushi options, a whole section dedicated to katsu curry, and some delicious yaki soba options including the salmon with a special sauce, mixed vegetables, coriander, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
