Gordon Ramsay's authentic Asian eating house Lucky Cat has an East London twin - Lucky Cat Noodle and Bar. The original restaurant has a rather glamorous location on Grosvenor Square in Mayfair, but the Noodle and Bar takes up a rather different location, at the Shoreditch end of grungy-but-cool Kingsland Road. Ramsay is moving into the old site where fast casual chicken restaurant Bird used to be - the space is quite small, which may better suit the less formal version of Ramsay's pan-Asian food. Lucky Cat Noodle and Bar joins the more casual end of Ramsay's restaurant group, such as his Bread Street Kitchen locations.
Like Lucky Cat Mayfair, Noodle and Bar promises more of Ramsay's ventures into pan-Asian cuisine. The menu at Ramsay's Mayfair outpost offers a huge range of items on the a la carte, from sushi and maki rolls to bao buns, dumplings, tempura dishes, main plates and more. It's doubtful that Lucky Cat Noodle and Bar will offer the same style of menu given the size of the restaurant and the wildly different clientele, but no doubt there will still be plenty of pan-Asian bites.
One thing that doesn't feature much at Lucky Cat Mayfair is noodles; one would expect from the name that noodles will feature heavily on the menu at Lucky Cat Noodle and Bar. Other details of the restaurant are yet to be confirmed, but this will add to the big name openings heading to East London this year.
