In a beautiful town between York and Hull, Lucia sits in the centre, offering Beverley's locals and visitors the opportunity to enjoy fine dining, delicious cocktails and beautiful surroundings. The menu features dishes that use world-class ingredients and are set to wow diners each time.
If you like your breads, you're in for a treat, as there are plenty on the menu. Choose from garlic bread or pinwheels, and toppings of green pesto, pepperoni with nduja and mozzarella, and goat's cheese with onion chutney. Starters ensure your meal is off to a good start with truffle garlic mushrooms that are roasted with a cream sauce, chicken Caesar croquettes with baby gem, anchovies and 24 month aged parmesan, and Italian meatballs in a spicy tomato sauce topped with parmesan cheese.
There are many options for pasta and risotto, like the beef fillet baked gnocchi with mixed mushrooms, tomato and cream, and the risotto pescatore with king prawns, mussels, salmon and calamari cooked with lemon and saffron risotto. The restaurant's signature dishes begin with the aubergine milanese with fontina cheese, charred oyster mushrooms and truffle mashed potatoes, along with the marinated beef skewer and honey and balsamic glazed duck breast with spiced carrot puree, dauphinoise potato, wilted spinach and red wine jus. There are many sourdough pizzas on the menu, too, including the parma with San Marzano tomatoes, Mama Sofi fresh mozzarella, 24 month aged prosciutto ham, rocket and shaved parmesan. Other topping options include the classic margherita and pepperoni, hoisin duck, spicy steak and goats cheese.
For dessert we'd suggest you try the Italian tiramisu, with layers of zabaione and espresso drenched sponge cake with a hint of liqueur flavouring. Each slice is served with fresh berries and chocolate sauce – bellissimo!
