You’ll find this lo-fi local café-bar in The Artworks container park: an interesting creative hub with small bars and bistros geared to serving the inhabitants of Elephant and Castle’s new-build developments. Slouch on a couch or chill in an internal courtyard over wines (from £16), or craft brews from Orbit of Walworth, Fourpure and Truman’s. Alternatively, order Pimm’s by the jug or £7 cocktails such as Walworth Sour (Bulleit bourbon, orange and sarsaparilla), Spring Punch (gin and elderflower) and Hobo Shandy (a surely combustible combo of beer, ginger beer, Tequila and Jägermeister). Similarly explosive is Long Wave’s Guatemalan-Brazilian blended coffee (from Coleman Coffee Roasters of Bermondsey). Salted snacks, sandwiches and pastries are sold here, though other food may be brought in from any of the hub’s outlets. Run by Rob Wray (director of Elephant and Castle’s annual festival), the bar also showcases local artists, poets, stand-up comedians and DJ sets.
