It’s not hard to fall in love with Vietnamese food – the fresh fragrances, the chilli zing, the crunch of raw vegetables, the steaming bowls of hot noodle broth. The way it makes you feel healthier and full in one short meal is almost like therapy. Fantastic then that it seems to be making its way steadily across the capital. Kingsland Road’s latest Vietnamese eatery offers not only healthy, light, refreshing dishes of bun (noodles and marinated grilled meat) and pho (noodle soups), but stretches its ambition with such dishes as grilled marinated quail with a spiced Vietnamese dipping sauce and sea bass with matchsticks of sharp mango. If you’re feeling adventurous, check out the set menus – a reasonably priced way to try a whole raft of off-piste Vietnamese flavours.
