This family-run Italian restaurant is nestled in the leafy suburb of Mossley Hill, just outside Liverpool city centre, where it serves authentic dishes and a carefully-curated wine list designed to deliver the best in Italian cuisine and hospitality. Owner and head chef Kevin De La Cruz has created a menu of traditional Italian dishes elevated with his own unique twist, using locally-sourced ingredients and produce from top Italian suppliers. Kevin and partner Shoonagh together run the kitchen and front of house team, and are dedicated to providing the best possible dining experience for their guests.
The a la carte menu includes a range of antipasti, pasta, pizza and main courses, with many dishes offering an elevated twist on a classic idea. To start, for example, you might choose to try black pudding bon bons with crisp prosciutto, poached egg and pea puree, or homemade chicken liver pate with red onion marmalade and toast. Further exciting main courses, meanwhile, include lobster ravioli with king prawns, marinara sauce and cream, chicken with mushrooms, onions, wine and cream, and ribeye steak with Italian salsa verde.
There is also a kid's menu available if you’re planning a family outing, which features slightly smaller portions of its pizza and pasta dishes. On Sundays, L’Olivetto serves an epic roast. Choose between chicken breast, topside of beef, roast lamb or a Mediterranean tart, which are all served alongside roast potatoes, carrot and swede mash, vegetables, Yorkshire puddings and gravy.
A concise wine list focuses primarily on Italian producers, while a small range of spirits, cider, draught and bottled beer are also on offer.
L’Olivetto were awarded with the Liverpool Lifestyle Award in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2019.
