Just over two miles east of Milnathort village & a short walk from the shores of Loch Leven, the Larder resembles a typical roadside venue attempting to be all things to all people: a café, food store & gift shop with farm animals & a fine view to boot. The interior is jolly-farmhouse-domestic on a large scale, but decent food rules the roost here. Good kitchen staff oversee the simple, seasonally tuned menu, which offers soup, paninis, baked potatoes (perhaps feta with roasted thyme, cherry tomatoes & pesto) & sandwiches (roast beef & horseradish, say) – largely based on produce from the owners’ farm. Fruit pies make a hearty finish.
