Las Tapas can be found in a 600 year old Grade II listed building that is rich in history, character and great heritage. Las Tapas are driven to providing guests with the best flavours, great ambience and brilliant customer service. The restaurant specialises in Spanish and Mediterranean flavours, preparing dishes with locally sourced ingredients where possible.
Tapas culture encourages guests to order a variety of dishes from all of the menus sections, so that they can indulge in different flavours, and a recommendation of three dishes per person is made. Each dish is prepared and cooked fresh to order. The menu includes boquerones marinated Cantabrian white anchovies with roasted peppers and olives, and the chef's croquettes of the day. Also included are the forever popular patatas fritas and bravas, padron peppers with Maldon sea salt, and a Spanish Mediterranean salad.
Cheese and charcuterie boards are able to be ordered, too, with choices of Jamon Iberico de bellota, serrano special reserve, and ibericos. The cheeses include rosemary Manchego DOC la mancha, Mahon DOC Menora and Tetilla DOC Galicia. If you like paella, try the seafood, vegetarian or chicken and chorizo options. If you like meat tapas, try the chargrilled slow cooked ribs with homemade Julienne fries, a mixed salad and Jack Daniels' BBQ sauce. Other meat tapas dishes are the chorizo picante, albondigas and medallion de ternera. The fish tapas includes gambas ajillo, a dish of pan fried sea bass with clams, capers, garlic and smoked paprika with a wine sauce, and pulpo, which is chargrilled octopus with grilled garlic potatoes, orange, cherry tomatoes and creamy pea puree. There are also plenty of burgers on the menu, along with vegetarian tapas, for people looking for something a bit different to the classics.
