Enjoy a slice of Latin life in Portsmouth’s Gunwharf Quays at this branch of Las Iguanas. The piazza overlooking the harbour is the perfect place to enjoy the two for one happy hour cocktails, as well as the range of dishes from across South and Central America.
Starters include pork meatballs, Brazilian fried chicken, calamares, popcorn squid, patatas bravas and quesadillas. There’s also two kinds of nachos: grande for sharing or single to eat alone. A taco sharing board is the other communal starter.
Main course options are divided into Mexican classics, Argentinian grills or Brazilian curries. The Mexican classics line up features all the old favourites, including fajitas (steak, chicken or mushroom), enchiladas (chicken or vegetarian), burritos (chicken or beef) and chilli con carne.
From Argentina, there’s fillet steak skewers, a Churrasco mixed grill, Buenos Aires burger and loaded chicken. Brazil rounds out the main courses and includes pollo can caruru (spicy chicken curry with butternut squash) and fish moqueca (white fish in a creamy coconut sauce served with sweet plantain and onion rice).
For dessert, there’s churros, dulce de leche cheesecake, coconut panacotta, mango sorbet and chocolate and orange espresso martini. Las Iguanas also offers bottomless brunch. This is a main course of your choice alongside two hours of bottomless drinks.
