La Chingada is a small, independent chain of authentic Mexican restaurants in London, with branches in both Surrey Quays and Euston. Founded by Walter Opitz, the team say their passion is share their Mexico's culinary heritage with the Capital by using fresh, quality ingredients and traditional recipes. Take a look at the restaurant's Instagram and you'll know what they mean - the gang here are full of fun and love sharing new drinks idea, food recipes and what they've been up to in the kitchen.
As for the space, we love the look of the Mexican-inspired wall murals which bring colour and character to the interiors. There's a mix of seating options from cosy tables for two, to elevated tables and bar stools for big groups. And, by the way, if you are looking for somewhere to host a special occasion, the team are keen to welcome larger bookings - from birthdays to work events.
The menu is concise, but offerings all the Mexican cuisine favourites you've no doubt been dreaming of. For example, you might want to start with some smaller, tasty bites such as a spicy, salsa-inspired prawn cocktail served in an elegant cocktail glass, alongside classic nachos loaded with cheese and mushroom qusadilla, too.
If you're feeling really hungry, you have to try the burritos which are hearty and brimming with vegetables, cheese, beans, rice and a filling of your choice. Pick between chorizo, chicken, beef and vegetarian and vegan options, too. We also like the sound of the tacos, from taco al pastor to raco de carnitas, complemented by a serving of taco baja prawn, which is a real mouthful.
Of course, it wouldn't be a mexican meal without some mezcal or tequila based cocktails. Try a house favourite like the Paloma, or perhaps something fruity like a passion fruit margarita to finish off the experience.
