Amongst the hustle and bustle of Oxford Circus is Kintan, a Japanese restaurant designed to take diners on an enticing yakiniku adventure. Celebrating the art of grilling, Kintan invites customers to take part in a shared dining experience.
Cooking up sizzling meats and fresh vegetables at their own table on what the restaurant describe as ‘built-in smokeless roasters’ at each table, yakiniku is a Japanese style of cooking inspired by the popular Korean BBQ. Kintan was the first authentic Japanese style yakiniku restaurant in London. The contemporary, stylish interiors are an inviting backdrop against the sizzle of grills, creating an environment that bridges modern, relaxed dining with timeless traditions. Kintan's menu is a symphony of flavours, nothing short of what you’d expect from any Asian restaurant. Choices range from kalbi short rib and miso butter salmon, to Japanese wagyu beef and shiitake mushrooms.
The main menu offers diners the option of ordering from six different set courses for two or more people, all offering a discount from the a la carte value, and complete with starters and sides, BBQ meats and vegetables, and the option to add on desserts. If you're visiting between Monday and Friday before 4pm, you can make the most of the yakiniku BBQ combo deals, choosing your own BBQ items to grill and soup, salad and rice. Fret not if you're planning on a weekend visit, as there's a brunch offer available until 4pm, too.
Drinks are in keeping with the Japanese menu, from the restaurant's most popular Japanese vodka cocktail, the Okinawa Colada, to the Tokyo Mule and Rum Yuzu Sour. There are plenty of Japanese draught and craft beers available, too, and a good list of wine, sake, junmai and ginjo.
