The King’s Cross Social Club goes out of its way to be inclusive. A mixed crowd of drinkers & dancers pile into the two-storey site, to be greeted by young, hip staff & a rotating line-up of DJs who are gaining a reputation among the party people. There’s a stylish retro-chic feel to the space, taking in 70s’ wooden furniture, art deco light fittings, twinkling fairy lights & a battered piano – star of the show when a singalong is called for. Cocktails are mostly classic mixes, from bellinis & margaritas to sidecars & old fashioneds, but with the occasional twist – try the cider apple martini or the fruity raspberry mojito blended with Havana three-year-old, fresh raspberries, sugar, lime & soda. Food revolves around hefty mezze platters.
