Brothers Robin and Chris Turner are bringing the flavours of Korea to Liverpool's Slater Street. Combining Chris’ passion for creating top-quality fast food, and Robin’s experience living in Busan, South Korea, KaiBaiBo has taken Liverpool by storm ever since it first entered the scene back in 2022.
Named after the Korean game of rock paper scissors, Kaibaibo embraces a fun, playful approach to meal times. Alongside some more traditional Korean dishes, the KaiBaiBo menu offers fast food plates adapted to suit British tastes, illustrating the variety within the cuisine.
Chris combines innovation with a respect for tradition on his menu. The KaiBaiBo menu begins with a selection of bao buns. Pick between a filling of pork belly, Korean fried chicken or marinated tofu, for the perfect bite to begin your meal with. While dishes such as Korean fried chicken and bulgogi skewers feature, the restaurant is widely known as the originator of the ‘meat donut’, a ball of fried dough encasing a slow-cooked beef and sriracha cream cheese with roast pepper sauce. Other small plates include spiced butter corn ribs with sesame and chives, and sweet and spicy rice cakes with charred vegan mince and spring onion.
Another major influence on the brothers was their time spent in Japan, roaming the streets late at night to find local Izakaya's and ramen bars. These adventures have resulted in a delicious selection of noodles that make up a large chunk of the menu. Separated by ramen and dry noodles, there will be an option for any mood. For ramen lovers the spicy miso pork belly rame is not to be missed, a spin on the spicy classic, served with charred corn, pak choi, egg and spicy miso broth. If spice is not your thing, test out their galbi butter noodles, an uber-comforting dish you’ll find yourself craving every rainy day.
