About

Jack and Alice is a neighbourhood restaurant in Farnham, Hampshire. A family run business that takes its name from the founder’s grandparents, it serves food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, working with the finest local suppliers to produce high quality, fresh food. The decor is warm and inviting, making great use of the original brickwork and beams by teaming them with dark furniture and eclectic lighting. This continues out onto the terrace, which makes for the perfect place to watch the busy high street go by.

The breakfast menu features a range of modern and traditional classics. Jack’s Big Breakfast is a refined take on the classic Full English, with Alice’s Big Breakfast acting as the veggie version, in which bacon is substituted for halloumi. There’s also shakshuka, steak and eggs, and honey almond, cinnamon and raisin granola. Pancakes are ideal for brunch, with toppings on offer such as strawberries, crispy bacon, and Greek yoghurt with blueberry compote.

Lunch and dinner at Jack and Alice’s are given their own menus, with many dishes carried over from breakfast into the former. The range of sandwiches, burgers and dogs are perfect for enjoying on the terrace in warmer months. There’s many fillings to choose from, including classics like a fish finger sandwich that’s given a new lease of life thanks to ciabatta, homemade tartar sauce and baby gem lettuce, and a four cheese toastie. Burgers are equally as varied, ranging from grilled chicken with smashed avocado and salad to a Moving Mountain vegan burger.

The evening menu takes things up another notch. Its sharing range is ideal for enjoying with a few drinks, and features the likes of spinach and artichoke dip with tortillas, baby Camembert with sourdough soldiers, and eight hour slow cooked beef nachos. Boards are equally good for a group, and can be either meat, cheese or both. Vegetarian evening options are plentiful, including tomato bruschetta to start and panko aubergine and halloumi mini burger for mains. Sirloin steak tagliatta and smoked salmon and haddock fishcakes are non-vegetarian dishes on offer. Jack and Alice’s also serves afternoon tea and has a children’s menu.
