It may be an upscale, new-wave Indian restaurant, but India Quay still pays due heed to its local clientele. Occupying a fantastic location by the north end of the funky new Finnieston Bridge, bang on the Clyde, its two dining levels look pretty damn modern and stylish, although there‘s nothing on the menu to scare the natives. Tried-and-tested tikkas, kormas, bhunas and biryanis are all present and correct, but what sets this place apart from your bog-standard curry joint is the freshness and vibrancy of the cooking – backed by really intelligent service. Vegetarians do well here (again, no surprises but well executed stuff), while occasional specials might run to pheasant pakoras and dhal makhani (black lentils). Business lunches, theatre deals and regular buffet spreads complete the picture.
