On the mezzanine floor at Wood Manchester, you’ll find a sophisticated haven ‘dedicated to paired cheese, chutneys, wines, and beers’, which works with local producers and suppliers to provide diners with a range of fine cheeses and wines, cocktails, and beers.
The ultimate experience at Homage is sitting down to sample its tasting menu, a luxury event which can involve up to four hours of tasting and sipping in Homage’s beautiful interior. The Homage tasting menu pairs cheeses with a selection of designated fine wines – you can’t switch out dishes according to likes or dislikes, and you can’t switch wines, so make sure you’re willing to take a back seat and trust the process. There are two tasting menu options available: the ‘Favourites’ option for £50, and the ‘Classics’ for £70, for which you’ll get around five courses to taste. If you just want a small plate or two alongside your drinks (and you want to choose them yourself), you can also take a seat and simply order from its menu of cheese, charcuterie, and nibbles.
Seating in the venue ranges from single person tables to sixteen people, so whether you’re after a relaxed solo drink to end the day, or a luxury night of celebrations with colleagues, this is a great spot to visit. Try to book your tables in advance, as it can become busy in the evenings, but you can also take your chances and drop by without a booking if you’re feeling lucky.
If you’re looking to up the ante on your dining experience, you can opt for a seat at the Chef’s table, which has space for up to six guests. After being welcomed to the venue with a glass of Exton Park Sparkling Rose, you’ll be seated, where you’ll be able to watch your food being prepared first-hand – sure to be a unique and exciting experience.
