Her Majesty’s Secret Service is a cute independent cocktail bar in Clifton, right next to the city’s train station. Recently, the bar unveiled a new menu, titled Celebrating Cocktails, which is all about the origins of the bar’s favourite tipples, all made new with unfussy and sometimes quite spectacular twists. Don’t worry, you’ll always be able to get the classics at this bar. Although walk-ins are always welcomed, you may be worth booking if you definitely want to visit, as this bar can fill up quickly, especially on the weekends.
The Scout's Honour cocktail contains mezcal, RinQuinQuin, marshmallow syrup and lime, whilst the classic Kir Royale is a mixture of gin, bay leaf, creme de cassis, Moet & Chandon. If you visit between 5 and 7pm, daily, you'll benefit from happy hour. On the cocktail list, the Maid In Japan range is a selection of cooled-down formulas for instant modern classics, with a blend of spirit, citrus, cucumber and mint - expect to find a delicious Toki Japanese Whisky with St. Germain in this delicious boozy bevvy. Do you love the famous ice lolly? Order the Twister, a decadent fizzy blend, long, sweet and sour, with a delicate creamy texture. This cocktail is a blend of Grey Goose La Poire with kiwi and strawberry, lime sherbert, egg white and cream and soda. The Pina Colada is the undefeated champion of the disco era, and contains a mix of Bacardi Carta Blanca, toasted coconut, pineapple and lime juice.
For something quite unusual, but we're sure you'll love, order the special which is a whole glass of frozen cocktail deliciousness, with half part Strawberry Daiquiri and the other half Pina Colada. If you prefer to keep things classic, try the Manhattan, a simple yet strong and exquisite drink of Lot 40 Rye with sweet vermouth and angostura bitters.
