With the same fresh interiors as its sibling sites, Heavenly Desserts in Huddersfield offers a pretty shopping pitstop thanks to its location in the centre of town.
The brand was started back in 2008 when its founders spotted a gap in the market for an high-class dessert bar in the UK. Over a decade later and it has become a national sensation with locations in nearly every major city across Britain.
So, what’s the secret to its success? Well, we’re of the opinion that it’s the consistency of the treats and the quality of the ingredients used. On every menu up and down the country you’ll find the same hand-made desserts and artisanal treats, with Huddersfield being no exception to the rule.
The menu throws up all your classics like pancakes, waffles, cheesecakes, and ice cream sundaes, but there are also some more niche options for the adventurous among us. Little Japanese mochi balls come with chewy rice dough exteriors and smooth gelato centres in a range of flavours while the house signature ‘croffles’ blend the wonderful buttery flakiness of a croissant which is then baked into a waffle shape. Elsewhere there are smooth milk cakes, profiteroles and even kunafah – a Middle Eastern dish of shredded filo pastry wrapped around soft curd cheese which is then baked. This is served with nougat gelato, crushed pistachios, and a sweet syrup.
All dietary requirements have been thought through too with menus that span gluten-free and vegan through to special kids’ menus perfect for mini guests.
The indulgence doesn’t stop with the desserts either. There’s also a far-reaching drinks menu that help make every occasion a fully rounded experience. From milkshakes in every flavour through to interesting cocktails and healthy smoothies, the options allow you to either go for all-out treat mode or pull things back a little with a good dose of fruit.
