Hart’s Bakery is located within a spacious Victorian railway arch at Temple Meads station in Bristol, and is a dedicated artisan bakery. The team’s focus lies in crafting sourdough, handmade pastries, and seasonal cakes and savouries. Within the open workspace, you can see all of the products being carefully prepared, baked, and put out for sale. You’ll be captivated by the beauty of it all.
The bakery’s sourdough bread is all about simplicity, made with just flour, water, and salt, complemented by Hart’s natural leaven. The bakery uses exclusively organic flour sourced from Shipton Mill in Tetbury, and the bread undergoes a long, slow fermentation process, resulting in a product bursting with flavour and character, possessing excellent keeping qualities. Because of how the bakery works, the bread is made and served straight out of the oven, so you’ll get the freshest produce possible.
Each of the pastries available to purchase daily has been made with specialist cultured butter from Estate Dairy, undergoing a three day process for optimal flavour and texture. All of the pastries are freshly prepared each morning, and include selections such as croissants, pain au chocolat, and cinnamon buns – so be sure to order a cup of locally roasted coffee from Extract Coffee Roasters, which is Hart Bakery’s single-origin seasonal espresso, rotating every few months, and is ethically and responsibly sourced directly from farmers worldwide and roasted locally in Bristol by Extract Coffee Roasters.
