Born in London and now rocking all over the world, it was only a matter of time before HRC brought its razzmatazz to Scotland’s first city. Expect the trademark mix of music, iconic memorabilia (Elvis’ sombrero, anyone?), party events and plenty of food with an American, Tex-Mex or Italian accent. It isn’t all ‘fast’, however: ribs and chicken are smoked on site, BBQ sauce bubbles away in the kitchen and pasta is the real deal. If you make it past the potato skins, ‘famous fajitas’, open-faced sirloin sandwiches and grilled sock-eye salmon, you’ll find a clutch of ‘legendary’ burgers with all manner of toppings and sides. After that, garish desserts beckon – bites of chocolate peanut butter pie, ‘sinful’ hot fudge sundae, apple cobblers. Kids love it and run riot, but there’s plenty of good stuff on the beer and cocktail list to keep grown-ups energised or pacified (depending on the circumstances).
