Stockbridge locals are rather fond of this neighbourhood bar, least not for its relaxed yet informed menu and exceptional service. The dishes at Hamilton's move with the seasons, and the kitchen works with a great selection of local suppliers so that your meal is of the highest quality. Breakfast is served from 9am, before lunch at noon and dinner from 6pm. The doors are open every day of the week until 10pm, and every dish is cooked to order.
Enjoy some of the spectacular cocktails on the menu, including the Peach Highball made with Monkey Shoulder whisky, peach, marmalade, Jack Honey and Fever Tree ginger ale, or the Cactus Paloma with Cazadores Blanco tequila, cactus, grapefruit sherbet and soda. Before your main meal, you can enjoy the IJ Mellis cheese board with a daily selection of cheeses, house chutney and oatcakes, or a few of the small plates. Choose from salmon gravadlax with creme fraiche, pickled shallots and a herb salad, the daily mussels and sticky chicken thighs with honey and mustard.
There are just a few mains on the menu, always including a daily special. The fisherman's soup is made with Scottish market fish, prawns, mussels, tomato broth and served with house sourdough for a very hearty, authentic taste. Other popular options include the chicken breast Cordon Bleu, beer battered haddock and lamb rump with fried potato terrine, peas, broad beans, anchovies, green olive tapenade and lamb jus. For dessert there is always a daily fruit crumble served with vanilla pod ice cream, along with a whisky creme brulee and lemon thyme shortbread, and chocolate delice with pistachio brittle and zingy cherries jubilee compote.
