Opposite the station, if you’ve just hopped off a train and are absolutely starving, Gourmet Burger Kitchen will take care of that quick time. Serving up all the classic burger combinations, alongside some unconventional fillings, no matter what your burger preference you’ll be satisfied.
Offering up beef, lamb, chicken or veggie burgers, after you’ve decided on your style of patty you can discover its crazy flavour combinations. Try the Kiwi burger, the one that first made GBK stand out in 2001 when it first opened. In this burger you’ll find cheddar, beetroot, fried eggs and pineapple. Not one for the burger purists among us but an interesting flavour combination all the same.
If it’s lamb you’re after, its Lamburghini burger (named after the Italian sports car) will get your taste buds racing. You’ll find peppers, hummus, pickled onions, jalapenos and cucumber raita in this burger but the classic lamb is also available if you don’t fancy all those flavours.
Not into red meat? No worries because the Chick Chick Boom burger with chilli fried chicken, blue cheese slaw, jalapenos and dill pickle keeps things interesting but doesn’t overpower your taste buds, despite the mixture of strong flavours.
Lastly its vegan and veggie options don’t disappoint. Sick of always being stuck with a dry burger? At GBK you won’t just find the stereotypical bean patty. Instead try the falafel or jack-in-a-bun burger with pulled jackfruit and a butternut squash and quinoa patty (although a bean burger is available too if that’s your thing).
All housed in a stylish well-lit restaurant with comfy seating and a great atmosphere, you can enjoy your burger with lots of friends or by yourself (no one judgement here). The best bit? You don’t even have to leave your table or get a waiters attention to order your food, if you download its app you can order in seconds, no waiting around at GBK.
