Glaze Steakhouse is in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. It offers casual dining with a theatrical edge, including dry ice flooding the tables when certain dishes are ordered. The decor retains a luxury edge, including plush furniture and a sizable and well stocked bar. Glaze’s second floor allows for more intimate dining, away from the kitchen and entrance. The restaurant takes its name from the signature glaze added to every steak. This is sweet and smokey with a subtle hint of spice, elevating the carefully selected range of premium meats.
The food menu is broad. Steak options are numerous, covering everything from an 8oz fillet to a decadent 24oz cote de boeuf. All beef is Wagyu-Angus cross supplied by a fourth generation master breeder, resulting in tender and flavoursome steaks no matter your chosen cut. Ramping up the luxury even further is Gold at the Glaze. This involved either the cote de boeuf, rib-eye, or beef burger being served topped with gold leaf, the ultimate act of self indulgence.
Away from steaks, the starters lineup includes mussels, king prawns, scallops, and baked tikka camembert. There’s also a solid range of non-steak main dishes, such as The Glaze Special (chicken boti, lamb chop, sausages, prawns, chips, salad, and a flatbread), grilled cod loin, and half a grilled chicken. Burgers are also in plentiful supply, with everything from a fish burger (sea bass fillet coated in breadcrumbs) to a halloumi burger to The Glaze burger (minced Wagyu-Angus rib-eye and fillet). All burgers are served with fries, onion rings, cheddar cheese, signature mayonnaise, salad, and tomatoes.
The drinks menu offers a range of wines and cocktails and that are the perfect companion to the food. A member of the team is always on hand to guide guests through the wine list, especially recommending which grapes work best with which steaks. The cocktails lineup doesn’t stray far from the classic, including an Old Fashioned, Negroni, and Mexican Mule.
