Gaucho Edinburgh is the first edition of the luxurious Argentinian steakhouse in Scotland. The supremely situated restaurant is located just off St. Andrew Square, a couple of minutes walking distance from the grand Waverly station. It is right in the heart of charming Edinburgh, for easy access to the rest of the beautiful city.
The contemporary, modern space is lined with glass for a cool, fresh atmosphere surrounded by sleek décor and elegant furniture. The colour palette and textures used throughout the restaurant are heavily influenced by Argentine forested landscapes to create a dimly lit, luxurious mood that enhances the rich experience.
There is a private wine room for patrons looking for a more, exclusive intimate affair, with an extensive selection of the finest Argentinian wines. The private dining capacity comfortably accommodates 14 guests at long tables in a chic room.
The menu reads as a mouth-watering litany of the fine meats from Argentina, which are premium grass-fed Black Angus cattle bred at a selection of great farms. The free range cows roam in the Pampas province and are fed natural foods. The range of cuts on offers features Chateaubriands, rib-eyes, and traditional cuts of picana, flank, and skirt. Patrons can opt for sharing platters of a range of meats to sample a bit of everything family style. Either way, you’re in for an authentic experience.
In addition to well-sourced beef, the wines list is impeccable with a myriad of fantastic international reds and white on offer to pair with your meal. There are super Malbecs and regional wines from Gaucho’s own Mendoza vineyards in Argentina. For the full experience, do try the rustic empanadas and tiraditos for starters and then round off the hearty steak meal with a sweet dulce de leche dessert in the form of cheese cakes, pancakes, and more.
